The first step of production usually starts with asking and knowing what the project will be all about. After finding new innovative and creative ideas, a story along with a detailed script and maybe even a storyboard are being developed. Structuring and planning the production process is key to having a more seamless experience during shooting and editing.
This is the stage where it comes to translating a written script into the language of moving images. In most cases this would mean capturing what's happening in front of the camera's lense. While this can be done on one or several days of shooting, there are also productions that happen fully digital - for example the creation of an animated advertisement.
Often refered to as "editing", the last step of production means arranging all the gathered individual clips, adjusting colors, finding fitting music, inserting titles and adding the overall final touch to the project. All these decisions are being made to fit the content of the video and the message or mood it is trying to convey. After finalization the video is being exported and provided for its use.
